We have published recently an
article about the master Global E-Business (Are you
interested on e-business studies? ). Now, we would like to show you some details
about the city. We are also students, so
we know that it’s important to be in a dynamic city to make studies. We know that prices are also one of our
principal worries so in this article we show you some prices (housing, food…).
About the city: Lille is the 4th more important
city in France. It is usually called the
crossroad of the North of Europe. In
fact, Lille is close to London, Amsterdam, Brussels and Paris. For example, to go to London you, spend no
more than two hours. Studying the master
of Global E-business at the University of Lille 1, gives you the opportunity to
know a part of Europe. Moreover,
travelling in Europe is very cheap in comparison to the US or Australia. A round trip from Alicante to Charleroi
(Brussels Airport, at only 1hour of Lille) is 35 Euros! A round trip from Lille to Brussels in TGV
(High Speed Train) is 25 Euros, in half an hour you are in the capital of

These are some prices in Lille:
Hotel: About 45 euros per night
You can live either on campus or
in Lille.
Living on campus is cheap (the
contrary that in the US for example).
The advantage is that you are in the University and you have all
facilities there (internet, laundry service…).
You can also live in Lille, which is also a good option because you are
in the downtown so you have restaurants, shopping, and clubs near to your
house. Lille has a subway so it is not
that far from the university. From the downtown
to the university, you spend around 20 minutes. You have a big range of prices. It goes from 200 Euros on campus to 600 in
Lille. For example, you can find an apartment
in Lille of more or less 25 m2 at 400 € or a bedroom on a traditional hall in
the university at 200€.
At the university you will find
restaurants (they are called university restaurants: “resto U”). Eating there is really cheap and is the best
option (you have a first course, a main course, a dessert, a fruit and water)
for 2,80 € (about US$4.2).
Moreover the tuition fees of the
Master Global E-Business are comfortable: 240€ (around US$360) but be careful
the selection of students is done by their skills, educational background and
motivation. The French government
supports this master financially at 70%. Indeed, the selection is based exclusively
on skills level criteria, and not on any money criteria. Students from all over the world come each
year to the interviews to be chosen but only the bests are finally allowed to
enroll.
